Does anybody know what these do?

Im hoping them not being connected are something to do with my headlights not popping up?

Why else would my headlights not be pooping up? (ive checked the fuses)

Those look like the connectors for the headlight motor control module. it is about an inch thick and about 4 inches square.

Without it, your headlights will not rotate.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I take it this is what I need?

http://www.ecklers.com/product.asp?p...KE57ESF71K6TL3

Is there any diagram anywhere that can tell me where to hook up the Headlamp Opening Actuator Modules to?

Thanks for your help!

i know through the 90 model year, that module screwed to the forward side of the front drivers side wheel well panel. you should see two diagonal holes in that panel towards the bottom in a flat area. it mounts with two 6mm bolts ( 10mm socket).

Freakin OUCH! $170 for one?? Glad I "aquired" one from the local junkyard.
Just mount the module and plug those connectors to it, headlights should work after that.

Just an FYI... That module looks like the same one used in the 90-92 Firebirds.

The connectors will only fit one way, one has more pins than the other. Also, note that ecklers says 84-96 but this is NOT factory for 84-87. 84-87 used 3 relays to control the headlight motors.

Probably a result of improper diet or constipation, and also gravitational effects.

If you follow those wires into the harness they actually run down the frame rail and go back to the batter and some inside the car for the light switch. I'd look on ebay before buying ecklers, they show up on there all the time. Just do a search for corvette module or corvette head light, and make sure you get the right year range, 84-87 88-90 91-96.

Yes I have noticed that, the headlight motors run off 6volts I believe?

So just to confirm the modules can bolted on, with no connections expect the 2 connectors for the headlights pictured above?

I only need the 1 module dont I?

Thanks!

Two on ebay right now:

7969846219 $20.00 1 day 4 hours left
7969465059 $45/$60 1 day 6 hours left

Yes, you need 1 (one) module. It has two places where the two connectors you circled plug into.

I hope I'm not confusing you, but I have looked at that top pic alot and it looks to me you have an aftermarket head light kit. By the pic it looks like the back of a standard headlight socket. If that is the case you would be wasting your money buying the control module. Your pics to me look nothing like my car with the headlights on or off.

headlights on

headlights off

It actually looks like the headlight bucket without one of the covers. I cannot tell from the pic which one is missing (if headlight is up or down).

Mesteffen

Are you basing your assumption on the wiring, or the look of the headlight? (im really hoping its just the look!) also thanks for the pics provided!

As Tommelton rightly said, neither of the headlights have the covers on, and the headlight is actually in the "up" position

I really hope I dont have aftermarket ones, I was happy that I found out why the lights were not working!
