I have an "89 A4 that is totally stock with 2.59 gears. I am considering a going to an S10 converter for a little more oomph at the stoplight. I want to hear from you guys wheather this move is wise or should I go the more expensive "Vigilante" converter.----
I've been very happy with my S10 converter. I still had a 2.59 rear in my 91 when I had the S10 converter put in. My 60' times dropped by about .15 to .2 on average. I now probably have a couple hundred 1/4 mile passes with the converter and have had no problems. It seems like a pretty decent converter for a L98 application.
I have a "Vigilante" in my 86 and a S10 in my 94.
The S10 sucks I would not do it again.
It gave me nothing in the !/4 mile.
If I did it again I would buy the 900.00 "Vigilante"
The$700.00 one is strong ,But I would prefer more clutches.
