Pulling codes on a "94
Just bought a '94 LT1 Vette that has been sitting for two years and am trying to do tune ups. Whats the best code reader for my aplication becasue i have an intermittent backfire/misfire at about 4500rpm. My fiance also own a 2001 toyota who just got raped by the dealership

You can pull codes on a 94 Corvette without any tools. All you need is a wire, about 3 feet long. Put one end on the negative battery cable, and push the other end into pin 12 on your diagnostic connector under the dash, at your right knee. Pin 12 in the 4th one from the left on the bottom row (top 1-8, bottom 9-16). Turn the key on, and it will enter diagnostic mode, and start displaying codes on the speedo. It will show codes from 4 different modules. You can use a shop manual to reference the codes, or post them here and I'll look them up and let you know what they are.
