Anyone in the Rhode Island area ever heard of a company called "Chillywillies"? There web site is www.chillywillies.com. They advertise virgin R12 at low prices. They are located on Fletcher Ave in Cranston,RI. The prices are lower than any I have seen. I tried calling them, but couldn't get thru.

Can't say that I know them. Do you get your license to purchase R12?

Last can I purchased at Autozone was $14, so they're competitive when you consider shipping, though I think this stuff has to go by ground or you have to pay the hazardous shiiping fee for air - 90 Bucks a lb?

Four to six weeks delivery time.
Money order or checks only.
Don't answer the phone.
Web-site says their 800 number is down and check back later.
The address is probably a Post Office drop box.

Sounds like a scam.

I'm thinking its a scam also. I checked with the Cranston BBB and they never heard of them.

Ive got a 609 certification from the EPA, so I can purchase any size container. I inquired at my local Autozone and they looked at me like I was from another planet. I even showed them my 609 card and all I got in response was "its illegal, you can't buy it, we can't sell it, ect, ect". It wasn't worth trying to explain to them that they're wrong.

I've heard that about some Autozone's, but most (licensed) customers report that they just end up speaking with the Manager and they're able to purchase. In fact, I haven't been to a discounter, whether it be NAPA, Pep Boys or Autozone where a clerk hasn't at one time or another told me that R12 was illegal, that they didn't carry it, etc, etc. Also, I once stopped in at three different Autozones on the same day and got 3 different prices. The 1st was $10 per can, the second $15, and the last was $12; all stores were within a 20 mile radius of the other.

I'll sell it to you in person, no license needed at $40 per can.
But, I won't ship it.

Sounds like a "blend" substitute to me.

I don't like blends.
