I have a 86 Vette, I am wondering if I were to get a 52mm BBK throttle body would I have any problems as my car is currently stock ???
Also I should be getting a set of Hooker long tube Headers very soon and was wondering what kinda setup anyone out there recomends from the Headers back, I am getting the Headers without emissions. I was thinking of going with an X-pipe any suggestions ???
A 52mm TB will not help you with a stock engine, you wouldnt start to see help from it until you went with a 383, and even then you may not notice it. So youre wasting your money.
Only real problems you might run into are a lack of throttle response, and the idle will be slightly affected.
If you dont plan to keep the main cat, i would install a crossover of some type to cut resonance, but otherwise you can install any catback you like. Only real difference is sound.
I have a BBK 52mm TB, and in all honesty, I can't recommend it. It works fine now, but they have some quality control issues and you have to do a little sanding on the plates to keep it from binding.
