1984-1989 door control plates

Does the whole door need to be removed in order to replace the power door lock switch ? Cuz mine crapped out on my passenger side and I just ordered a new one from Ecklers. Does the door control plate come out easily to replace this switch or does the whole door panel need to be removed ?? Thanks.

no, just the plate behind the release lever.

there are 3 screws... one behind the manual locking slide, one you can see, just behind the release lever and one more behind the door light.
