I want to just replace the boots on the upper ball joints....
no idea what's involved....do I need to relieve spring pressure by jacking up the lower control arm? anything special to loosen the ball joint so I can slip on the boot? anybody that has experience with this please give me your 2 cents...Greatly appreciate any tips. Thanks
I would replace the ball joint if the boot is gone. It's gotta come out anyway.
You will need to drill out the rivets. The new balljoint will come with nuts and bolts. I had a booger of a time getting the rivets off mine, wound up using an air chisel. Good time to do control arm bushings too.
