Thanks!
Do these posi's need an additive to the differential grease like the old posi's required. The reason I ask is, I have a noise almost like a bad u-joint. I just replaced both half shaft u-joints with Spicers, and had a new aluminum drive shaft built also with Spicers.
The car was purchased from an older lady who babied it from brand new, and I never drive the car hard. The wheels have probably never been spun. The car has 99,000 miles on it and I find it hard to believe that the rear end is going out. I could be wrong!
Any input?
Change the fluid and add 2 bottles of posi addative.
I would install royal purple.
I would also change the diff fluid every 36, miles as required with the trans.

I made the mistake of only adding one bottle of additive. The rearend would let out a loud whine everytime I turned either left or right. Problem solved by adding a second bottle.
This sounds really stupid, but make sure both tires are the same diameter. I am not sure that would make a whine sound but it sure would eat up the posi. My 1988 D-36 makes a little sound which I have just come to accept. I have put 65,000 miles (165M total) on the car and the sound has always been there but does not get worse. That car was owned consecutively by three women (all within the same family, never raced)
When you drain the old out of the differential, look closely for metal flakes.
