Get yourself a beer and read this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...47&forum_id=82
Consider yourself forewarned. This ain't no drill. If something goes terribly south in the process, YOU'LL be the one holding the bag with this guy.

After that you' need to hook a scanner/laptop (this is my preferred) to it and see what the BLM & INT are at idle. If they are close to 128 (120-135..ish), its time to take it for a drive...moderate drive and see what the BLM & INT are. You are shooting for 128, also pay attention to knock counts while driving. Log your data (Moates' software is great for this), post up your log files and start asking questions on where to make changes and what they'll do.
Of course the absolute best way to do the tune is with a W/B O2 and dyno..but we all don't have that option.
In short, doing it yourself is the best way (short of the dyno) to get a good tune, since you have the car and can see what the changes to the PROM are doing for or against you.
If you are interested in going this route I could build an ALDL cable complete with ALDL connector (and instructions on how to power and hook it up) and send it off to you....
The only cost to you would be to post your progress, mods to the bin and possibly share the finished .bin here for others to look at so they can get an idea of how/what is done to tune.
Let me know if you are interested..The ALDL cable is very cheap to build..on the order of $4, so don't worry about costs. The ALDL adaptor is made from scrap parts I have laying around..believe it or not.
