What should temp be on trans. fluid?

What should temp be on trans. fluid?

Hey guys ive never heard what the temp should be mine is running at about 195. Just wondering thanks steve

auto or manual?

I would think that as long as the tranny is near engine temps, there is no problem.

I don't have a trans temp guage, but from what I've heard, your temps sound about right.

Well, considering that the stock cooling setup for the auto tranny uses the radiator to cool the fluid there's no possible way it can run cooler than
engine coolant temp.

195 would be typical.

But since the radiator cools the coolant below engine operating temperature it is possible for the tranny fluid to be cooled below that temp also depending on the demands being put on the tranny.

Just a little while ago mine showed 206 for auto trans temp with engine temp @ 209, and oil temp @210. This was while slogging along in a line of traffic about 40mph with a huge SUV in front of me messing up the air flow. About 75 deg outside air temperature
