Sorry, I dont have instructions for shorties. Just an opinion. I looked at your profile and it dosn't state, but if you're putting shorties on an L98 I've been told it's a waste of time as the stock manifold is basicly already a shorty header with a heat sheild. So not much if any gains will be seen. I'm not sure about LT1/4 but it's likely the same.
I'm not trying to rain on your parade but if it's not too late send those shorties back and get some ceramic coated long tubes and a Y or X pipe and a free flow cat and land yourself an 18-20 rwhp gain. JMHO
I see you got a set of Hooker Shorties. The only thing that is out of the ordinary is the AIR pipe on the pass side and the braces that help stiffen the AC/ alt bracket. On the AIR pipe (EGR tube), you need to cut a 3/4" piece of the pipe out and reweld. Any good precission welder can do it, just make sure he keeps the alignment of the tube the same. I also removed all the spark plugs, the oil dip stick tube. I also had to remove the AC from the bracket (but didn't disturb the freon) and moved the speed control and diverter valve assembly. If you need further instructions contact Hooker and see if they will send you the instructions that comes with the headers.
Yes, I did get some from a member and the should be coming next week.
I am building a new motor so the assembly should not be that difficult.
I am going with the shorties to reduce some weight and hope for a few more horses. I know there is a long debate that they don't do anything but I would be happy for 5rwhp.
I dont have a set of instructions handy but its prety straight forward if you have the same set I had. The air tube location on my supper comps where identical and the install was just bolting them on and that was it. The only tips I have is to grind the alt/AC assy bracket a bit so it will clear the header tube on the drivers side, and to get the rear bolts from undernieth.
