Default Spare Tire Carrier Bolt

To who ever made the post about taking out the license plate - Thanks.

Also, if you have never cleaned the bolt you might want to do it before it rusts in like mine did. Not having a vice I had to use vice grips on the end and stand on the tube and the fight the bolt out with a 1/2 " ratchet. Took about 20 minutes of serious fighting to get the bolt out. Cleaned it and lubed it and it goes in really easy.

Not sure if it was me that mentioned removing the license plate, but that has always been my recommendation.

I Can't get mine out. I have a long 316 SS bolt machined to replace it with anyway. It will match my corsa system better. I'm just gonnea cut it off.

Unless you have another tube that isn't going to work. The factory bolt is about 6 inches long and if it is rusted I would suggest pulling the entire assembly and clamping the top into a vice and get after the bolt with a 1/2" ratchet (socket is 19mm). I kept spraying WD-40 in about every 1/4" of the bolt I got out. Not fun with vice-grips and having to hold it down with your foot.
