Default Intermitent stall

I had trouble a couple weeks ago with my 89 stalling at an intersection. I restarted it and had to keep foot on gas to keep it from stalling to limp it to the side of the road. Service engine light came on and I couldn't get it to stay running. When I popped the hood, I saw a spark plug wire looked like it was shorting to manifold. I moved the wires and car started. I drove it home and replaced the wires and retainers and all was well. Car has run great since... til now. I was out most of the day and it was running fine, until a couple blocks from home. Same symptoms I had before but I don't see any problems. I tried pulling codes and all I get are the code 12's. Servece engine light came on a few times, but they are not registering. Could this be the ecm or the memcal?

If you are getting C12, then all is well with the ECM. The SES will light everytime the engine stalls, or, when it might stall and the RPMs start to dip.

I would give the car a good tune up and clean up the throttle body. My guess? The Idle Air Control is trashed or seriously gummed up.
