i just got the plates from corvettecentral, but 1 of the peices is the wrong size and one is right. the piece thats the wrong size is bigger and holes are different. on the original piping, the egr flanges are the same sizes, so wouldnt the other peice have to be the same size? do i need to cut it?
It sounds like they sell a "universal" kit, so you may need to do some fabricating to make it fit.
All you should need is a metal plate with properly located holes and the gasket to block off the RGR tube both at the intake base and at the header.
Yep, that's exactly what I did. I used a block off plate designed to cover the mechanical fuel pump opening in the block. Most auto parts stores, like AutoZone and Pep Boys, have them hanging on the rack; cheap too.
I used the EGR gasket as a template; cut out the plate and drilled two holes. Bolts, lock washers and sensor-safe silicone and it was a done-deal.
I cut off the exhaust tube and had the opening welded shut.

I just fabbed my EGR and AIR block-off plates from some steel stock I had lying around. Finished and smoothed nicely, prepped and painted w/ aluminum casting paint to match the intake. I used stainless steel studs, washers and nuts and it looks like a million.
