Any one know how to disable the fuel pump easily to perform a fuel injection cleaning
Thanks Mike
Pull the fuse, then start the car and let it run until it dies. Then crank the motor just a little more to be sure you have all the pressure out of the fuel line.
If the injectors are on an L98 it is not recommended to use harsh cleaners through the injectors as they can attack the coil windings.
Does anyone know what cleaners to avoid? I have an 86 and I have the hose and adaptor sold by Ecklers. In their catalog, they sell a 3M cleaner, #08912, I looked at the 3M web site and they have two cleaners in a can, #08956 and #08955. I am not sure what the differences between them are. Anyone try these?

strangely enough, i was just looking at a chevy tech bulletin last night(not sure of it's date but it was for the 85), and it said to use 95% gasoline and 5% gm top end cleaner--for what that's worth.
