ok several folks know that i've had a few noises from the car lately and i'm still tryin to track them down. heres the symptoms; a slow flapping sound almost like something wrapped around the drive shaft. but theres nothing there. it CAN make this noise when sitting still and idling but most often shows up when i'm flogging it in the high RPM range. above 5k usually causes the sound. i've noticed that my throwout bearing is starting to whine a little so i know it's on the way out. but it isnt bad at all yet. i guess this rattle or dragging sound could be that but i'm leaded to believe that it is something in the valve train. the first time i noticed it, i had just had the 1.6 RRs installed and was stretching it out. so do you guys thing that i have a bad rocker arm? is the increased lift of the new RR's too much for my valve springs and is that the noise i'm hearing? please please oh please give me some idea as to what you think it could be or what i can do to hunt this noise down. i'm completely stumped and need to find what's going on. the ONLY thing i have to go on is that it started right after the RR's were installed. the car runs normal and perfect any other time when i'm not flogging it. but when it comes i can swear that i'm dragging a suspension part, or that something it flying off of the car. please help a corvette brother out. thanks so very much gents and ladies too.

wth? did i say something? i mean dang, nobody has even a little advice for me? am i not following the code of ethics here cause i've gotten NO responce on the last two threads i've started when i've had problems. nobody out there can tell me what a floating valve sounds like? or at least what they think my problem is? please oh pretty please.

well thanks to all for your input. turns out that the mechanic i had workin on it used ole dino oil. i changed it back to my good old mobil 1 synthetic and havent heard the noise since. knowing my luck it'll pop back up tomorrow. thought i'd share for anyone who may ever experience this. at least i can help them out since i got no help from anyone else. thanks alot. first time this forum ever left me hangin.
