Go with the HyerTech coil/cap/rotor setup; Summit sells them.

It has 53kV and fires reliably well over 5k RPM. Then you can open up plug gap to .045" or more.

When I put my ZZ4 crate motor in my car, I also swapped the distributor for a late model V8 EFI distributor. It allowed me use higher performance external coil from MSD. The swap was pretty painless as I only had to buy the distributor connector pig tails and splice them into the original wire harness. The junk yards are full of these distributors or Summit sells new units.

By the way, I live in Friendswood, Tx and could probably find the time to help with the distributor swap.
