shift kit help times?
what exactly does a shift kit for a 700r4 help? does it increase times? i saw there is a kit for the street and one for the strip. is the strip one that aggressive?

I'm not sure about the stree & strip differences but suppose it's about the shift firmness.
If you A4 is now "lazy" on up shifts, a good shift kit will improve 1/4 mile preformance. It will also put a tire-chirping smile on your face.

I'm saving for a Transgo shift kit! I reeeealllly want one. I dislike the lazy shifting of my A4. I had a shift kit in my previous car though. Going from a firm crisp shift back to stock, sucks. IMO. You might not like the feel of the shift kit, I dunno. It's a hard shift every time. I'm not sure about different kits, did you check out Transgo? I did not track test mine but there was a big difference. I have read from others here that a shift kit cut .2 of their times. Equal to around 20 HP. Maybe run a search for more data?

Primarily, the mods are in the shift actuators and springs (or lack of), valve body springs, and drilling a few holes in the valve body plate.
It will definately put more snap in the 1-2 shift... which kit is better is usually up for debate.
Just be sure the clip ring for the 1-2 servo in installed in the groove properly
