How to ID a block?
I'Ve been kinda wondering about my 96. Nothing from an LT1 seems to fit.
Even things like fuel pressure reg had to be from a96 LT4 to fit.
I want to ID and see it this has been replaced at some point. Just too many odd things.

Got a pic of the motor? Is your intake red?

There is a 3 letter code on a pad on the front of block pass side,level with where the head face sits .
Very hard to see with all the crap in the way.If OE should be one of these 2 codes.
ZXA: 350ci 300hp AT
ZXD: 350ci 330hp MT
All Block Numbers: 10125327
MT=Manual Trans, AT=Automatic Trans.

I found that pad on my engine but there is nothing there. Does that mean the engine was replaced?

odd. the pad is on the right side front of the block.
I wonder if the bottom end was replaced. If the engine requires LT4 specific parts, that's not a bad thing.

LTX blocks should have a large "327" cast into both sides of the block, in the expansion plug area.
