Default Transgo shift kit installed, now problem

I just installed a transgo shift kit in a 1987 corvette. The trans shifts very good and I was happy with the results. But now when the trans got hot and twice while driving on the highway, fluid started poring out from somewhere. When I drive around town or the trans is cold it doesn't leak at all. I checked the fluid level and all is good. I suspect the front pump seal is leaking, but why would it leak now?
Can the increased pressure be causing this?
Did I install something wrong?

Thanks,
Mark

Are you checking the fluid level when it's hot?

Welcome to my world. Just like you I had the kit put in, it would work good for about a week. Then the leaks, and shifts soften up. My car was back and forth at least 4 times. Now Im waiting for my new beefed up tranny to arrive. I never had a problem until the shift kit, thats when my tranny problems started. Ive already wasted a grand fudging with old trans. Now 1500 on new rebuilt trans. Its been a bad spring. I hope your sitsuation doesnt turn out like mine.

Yes, I'm checking the fluid when hot. It is definetly not the fluid level.

I heard alot of other people say the shifts get softer after awhile. Maybe the 2-4 band gets worn. Anyone else know?

The 2-4 clutch is one of the weak links...

What can happen is if it were on the way out, you drill out the valve body plate and add the stronger springs it may run great but the additional pressures with the marginal clutches may end up causing them to "prematurely" fail... with the clutches slipping that is going to generate more heat, justifying the higher temps you were mentioning...

Just went through that I blew 2nd during a run Just had my trans rebuilt

My old man just rebuilt my tranny and threw the Transgo shift kit in. Should I expect a longer term of quicker, harder shifts being that the tranny is fresly rebuilt, with no corners cut on the rebuild?

I rebuilt my tranny myself too and installed the transgo kit while I had it out. You have a choice of using 1, 2, or 3 washers in a certain part of the tranny that will allow you to get them firmness you want. I went middle of the road and chose two and I have been happy. CHirps in 1-2 shifts and sometime 2-3(even with 315's!).
However, I changed the tranny fluid the past fall(Just what was in the pan, not a total change) and everything in the pan looked real good. But after it did seem to be a little softer. Not sure what happened. May have to go back and change it out again to see if anyting changed.
