84' ECM Question

Default 84' ECM Question
My ECM never sets a code..I can take the, let's say, TPS Harness completely off ...Check engine light comes on..try to get the code...nothing blinks once than twice..indicates nothing wrong. and this is with any sensor disconnected.Could my ECM be Bad? (Stupid)

Please help.
