rear rumble/vibration (Long)
I installed new tires as the old GSC's were at the wear strips. Installed 2- rear Goodyear GSD3 in the same size (315-35ZR17).
The vibration/rumble got a little better but it did not go away with the new tires. (So I guess it was not the tires).
The only thing I had a problem with was rear end noise on sharp turns last year. It had a different noise all together. At that time I drained the fluid (installed a drain plug as was shown in Corvette Fever article)and reinstalled GM fluid with one bottle of additive. It did not cure the noise. So a friend told me that the clutch packs were probably binding (sticking, glazed). He suggested to drain it again and run some ATF fluid in it and go to a parking lot drive in a figure 8.
It did fix the problem. I then drained the rear again and filled it with Mobil one synthetic gear lube with two bottle of posi additive. This solved the problem and the car was fine last year before I put it away for the winter. Any one have ideas (I was thinking of the wheel hubs/bearings but not sure how to check them). Sorry for the long post.
