My dads 92 convertible will take a spell where the deck lid release keeps clicking. The car will go a while without this happening, then it will start again. He disonnected the battery to keep it from running down. Any thoughts on what this could be?
thanks,
Shawn
Check the passenger side rear at the release and see if the carpet is stuck under the release.
Make sure the wires when you close the rear deck are not caught, grounding out.
Check the center glove box and see if the button is not being punched in by a ink pen or something in the glove box.
Check behind button to see if the 2 wires are touching ,be careful the wires to the button are real short.
The sides of the button yellow squeez together to release button.
I think you have something caught in the rear deck though .Mine does this when I put to much stuff under the rear deck.
Thanks, I looked and there is nothing in the back of the car that could hit the button and all of the switches are clear. I will look at the wires like you said.
Thanks for the info.
Shawn
