Default Vortex Rammer on an LT1?

It's the intake system from Breathless Performance Products (BPP). I had it on my '02 and it seemed to help the bottom end. I was wondering if anyone had put one on an LT1 yet and what their impression of it was.

I've had one on my '93 for about 6 months now and I like it. It makes that giant sucking sound but I doubt it does much more than a K&N until you get to higher speeds. A lot of people complain about the box warping or cracking. I'm anxious to see how mine hold up during the hot Arizona summer (110* by Sunday). Is it worth the money? Probably not.

Thanks. I've already got a K&N on it and wasn't sure if it was worth it to upgrade.

I have the Vortex ram air system on my LT1 .I like it very much ,it seems to breath much better, especially on the high end.

Well I can tell you firsthand that the Vortex Rammer is a piece of JUNK. The plastic is so thin that it warps from heat and then will eventually crack and break. I don't recommend buying it. Not sure if I actually got any performance gain over the K&N and cut lid or not but I wouldn't make the purchase again.

Thanks everyone. I didn't have my '02 long enough to make any real decision on the intake but I think I'll pass on it. Especially since I already have the K&N.

We did a test on one a few years back. The noticable gain was at the upper end. From 0-1/8th mile there was no gain, but from the 1/8th to the 1/4 there was a gain of 1 tenth.

I've had mine for two years.... mine had very minimal warp. No cracking what so ever and this is in the HOT Texas summers. Performances maybe, don’t know, put it on when I install my headers.
