Default 84 Digital dash fix

going to be attempting a fix of my digi dash..think its a ground problem from what I have read (directional lights & high beam indicator show up)
question is can the car run without the dash in place ??or will this cause another problem...

Sure, you can drive the car with the dash removed. You just won't know what's going on, but the car will run fine and it won't cause any problem.

Hi I have an 85 and I think it is the same dash except fro the some slight changes to the 85 in the graphics. I found a very good site that explains it all. I had the same as you. I had it intermittent. Some times it disappeared and the high beam and cornering lamps was the only light. Then bumping my hand on the dashpad it came back to normal. I followed the description on the link I enclose. It is most probably the connectors and bad soldering and/or one of the conductors from the connector that needs rersoldering. These connectors are very stressed and with the bad soldering technology they had that time it will not keep the good connection.
The link below have a lot of good recommendations and good descriptions with pictures.

Good luck
