If it idles okay when cold but not when hot, that points to a closed loop problem.
There are a few things that should be checked; using a ScanTool or Diacom will make pin-pointing the cause much easier. It's probably one of the sensors operating out of range.

I'm kinda havin the same problem with my 90 I have a post on a later page. One guy told me to OHM my injectors after it was warmed up. You might give that a try. They should ohm at least 15 ohms give or take an ohm or two. If they ohm alot lower then you might have a bad injector. My car seems to surge after it's warmed up when coming to a stop. And it shouldn't be a fuel filter problem. HOPE YA GET IT STRAIGHTENED OUT.
My chip was redone and my fans kick on right away. It doesn't have a problem till it warms up. When my injectors went bad a few yrs. back the hotter it got the worse it ran. It wanted to stall and cut out while running down the highway at speed also. I just finished OHMing the injectors and all were fine. I think I have a vacum leak somewhere.
