'96 Antenna went limp

Hey everybody. The antenna stayed in the up position today, and is not cooperating. The rest of the Bose CD system is fine. Any ideas or quick fixes? is it OK to push the antenna down by hand? It tees me off, because the '95 and '96 are supposed to have the fail-proof motor.

Hopefully, all you need is a mast replacement. I recently had the same problem with my 95 and picked up a replacement mast from Ebay for about $10. Problem solved.

I wouldn't go pushing it down. What has probably happened is that the plastic drive "wire" for the antenna has broken and pushing it back down will jam the drive wire in somewhere it doesn't belong...if you don't bend the antenna.

Search the TechTips in C4 section. There's a repair remedy there. You'll have to buy a replacement mast from your local Chevy dealer. Around $35 to $40 bucks if memory serves...
