I'm asking this because when i bougth the Accel base I read somewhere here in the forum thet both are good but the 1204 has a better seal action.
After this I bought a pair of Trick flow 195 heads and the intake dimensions are 2.09 x 1.28.
The i read somewhere that the intake ports on an Accel base are 2.09 x 1.28 .. ( I thought: I choiced the right heads!..)
Then I read that 1204 Felpro gaskets are 1.99 x 1.23...
Then I looked at the 1205 and they are... 2.09 x 1.28.
Why all are saying that 1204 are better?
And Why there are people that says "I ported my accel base to 1205 size"..
I have to order 1205 gaskets for my combo?
Thanks

For an untouched Accel base, a 1204 is probably the best fit. A 1205 will seal, but the printoseal will be visable at the corners of the intake ports. Your heads might be a better fit for the 1205 and you can port match the base to that aqnd it will work fine. However the 1204 is the better match for the base before porting.
conv90,
at face value it might be that the cross-sectional flow dynamics with 195cc runners in your new heads would negatively impact low-end torque, in a 350cid. are you stroking your engine? even with a 383, they might be a bit big.
to answer your question, ralph's comments are dead on......and yes the dimensions of the 1205 are definitely larger.....the 1204's are too, just not nearly as much -- the 1204's do indeed fit perfectly with unported SR runners.
Brad, I know that you are a fan of smaller cc intake sections..
BTW I'm building a 383 and a 195cc heads set I think is quite adeguate with 219 cam.
Don't you think?

....And 1205 or 1204 are intake gasket that serves intake manifolds NOT intake runners.
Beppe, John Lingenfelter, David Vizard and others are alot smarter than me, and thats what they say. I"m just a goofball. The 195cc heads with your 383 will certainly be much better than a 350 As you know, its safe to generally state that flow without closely maximized velocity hurts low end torque (and fun).
And yes, for the 1204's we're talking how they match up with the intake manifiold runner ports

I just put a set of TF 195's on my vette this past weekend with a 219 and I can tell you that low end torque is not a missing issue unless roasting the tires off their rims is your objective. I will be dynoing the car very soon with my bigmouth setup and will post numbers.
I did talk to trickflow and they told me that the intake port is setup to flow similar to smaller heads, ie. 180's at lower rpms.
My first impressions so far are good with this setup.
Yes I know a bigmouth isn't the optimum intake and I will be changing that after said dyno run.
