I just put a new BBK on my 86 a month ago. The thing works great. I have not had any problems. The only reason I put it on was the old one was worn out. My engine is pretty much stock. I know there are other good options as well.

I just got an AS&M 58mm TB. They are about the best, but then again, they are the most expensive as well. Holley makes them now as well. I've heard the BBK/Edelbrock ones have had problems also.
