windshieldwiper woes
I have an 87-love it. But the windsheild wipers hit on the downstroke. the right one hits the left. usually on the park mode. Since the spring weather in Mass. has been horrid this year, I really need the wipers to work
Ideas?--beside moving to a sunnier climate.

Take the cowl grille screen off the driver side, and loosen the clamps that hold the wiper transmission to the motor. It can be adjusted by sliding the clamps back and forth so the arms don't hit each other.

There was a post a year or two ago about "wiper blade collision" on older C4's like ours (I have an '87 also). The cure was to replace the wiper arms and blades with ones from a later model. I don't remember what model year these replacement parts are from, but I have the part numbers and prices from Jeff Kopp at Superior Chevrolet. These prices have probably gone up since the original post.
