Just going through my 92 Vette and noticed that there is a couple drops of coolant right under the upper rad hose on the pump. I know that it is coming from the upper connection. I just dont know if it is the hose or pump fitting. I changed clamps and it did not change anything.
-symptoms: It does not leak when cool or running, only after the car has run then turned off for about 3-5 minutes. Hope that is clear.

-The upper pump fitting seems to be sliding out! the lip is not tight against the collar, unlike the above pics.
could be your radiator cap is not opening(should open at 15lbs pressure I believe) to relieve pressure and allow the hot coolant to pass through and go to overflow bottle. This leak location may be the "weakest link" in your cooling system.....Highest pressure is built just after engine is turned off, the thermo starts to close, and the pressure builds and should pass through the radiator cap to your overflow....
If I remember right that is a press fit fitting. If you do decide to replace the whole coolant pump, think about an electric (Meziere HD) pump. Check out the Tech-Tips.
Pressurize your cooling system and see if that is really the origin of the leak. Is the fitting loose?
C4Mike: I will try the rad cap, it would be nice if that was the easy fix.
Strick: I am sure that is the leak area. No the fitting does not seem loose but when I replaced the clamp I moved the hose around and I could see that the collar was not up tight against the pump. I just have a hard time beleiving that if the fitting was loose that it not leak all the time.
