It is a very straightforward electrical circuit. Bypassing perm. shouldn't be a problem. Bypassing it temporarily in order to rig up a remote start on a 6-spd is a little more involved.
Give me a break. Those old muscle car starter setups were some real killers, huh?
Oh yourself. Just last year a father crushed his very own young daughter in the pit area of a dragway because he removed his. His wife was folder the girl's stroller to put it in her car's trunk and the father's mustange cranked over while he was working on it and it crushed her between his car and his wife's car.

Well, when I start my car I'll be sure to look out for baby strollers.
Better yet I'll just rememeber to put the clutch in every time.
This thread can turn nasty real quick and there isn't a reason for it.
Victor may have a perfectly legitimate reason for needing to bypass the switch, we really don't know all the details. Maybe he just needs to do so to verify that that is in fact his problem?
If you don't want to help him out or give the details than just don't post. There really isn't a reason to get upset or hostile about it at all.

What I'm trying to do is get this damn no start problem off my back. I'm hoping to get the car dyno tuned this weekend and I don't want the thing not starting on the dyno.

You'll be held liable if you run over someone if you have it or not !!!
I've been thinking of disabling mine for several months... if the switch works on a release system, just disconnect one of the wires. If it works on a "make" system, (logic says this is more likely), then jumper the wires. I'd have to check my Helms to know which way would work.

Stop and think for a second, it may help.
If you intentionally remove a safety device and an accident occurs causing physical/property damage because of it your insurance company is not going to pay out any claims for you.
This is the same as removing a fusible link and then trying to collect on a car fire.

I just got back from looking at it. Its a pretty big connector. One yellow and one purple wire going into 2 large black wires which both go into the switch. Me thinks it needs a jumper.
