Default Torque multiplication torque converters. do they work?

I was looking at the raptor transmissions and came across these converters.

http://www.partshp.com/Converters.htm

Do they work? Is there a catch?

"Performance gains of 2/10 of a second in 60 feet and up to 3/4 of a second in the quarter mile have been reported. The torque multiplication rates can be ordered in 2 to 1, 2.5 to 1 or 3 to 1. The torque multiplication of this converter will deliver an increase of up to 50 horse power to the rear wheels."

Really?

Also these pans look interesting.

http://www.partshp.com/Pans.htm

Turbulator cooling tubes, hmm neat idea. I wonder how fast the tube gets dirty. I have to change the trans fluid soon so am considering a deeper pan.

Also, also, I read about parts to install without removing the trans that sound as good as a shift kit. They sell a wake up kit to with several of the parts. I was thinking of getting a Transgo shift kit but am unsure about installing it myself since it requires drilling. If these parts bolt in, I can do that!

http://transmissioncenter.net/perfor...#700R4%20Parts

"#4. 700R4 Mega Valve. The Mega Valve will increase your fluid pressure and firm up all your shifts. This is the one you've heard about. Comes in two sizes .471" for firm shifts and .500" for extra firm shifts. Can be installed without removing the transmission or valve body. Cost $15.00"

Sounds good!

Ha Fuzzy, I dont think that theres any hp gains with any style converter, it will put you at your peak hp range at WOT right off the line and yes torque is increased big time. Im still waiting for my ride with my new tranny from Monster motor sports. Ill pm you as soon as its back and see at that time if your stii interested in my Vig stall.

HP is not increased but much less can be lost. For example, My Vig is 18 lbs. lighter than the stock TQ. That's a BUNCH of weight to not have hanging on the back of your crank.

Remember that the greater the torque (as opposed to HP) multiplication of the TC the greater the slippage, generally speaking.

A smaller diameter TC will weigh less that a stock 12" but will produce more fluid heating.

Generally going to stall >2,400rpm and/or size <12" requires an additional fluid cooler due to increased heat generation within the TC.

BTW, thanks for the links on tranny add ons.
