Default Tranny = done..what do to..help

Welp, so like....my tranny is dead..i had the car towed to the place that did my TQ converter...they dropped the pan and found metal fragments and said i needed a rebuild....I don't care to even get into what i think...

So...I was looking up places and i saw Mad Dogs Transmissions out of florida...He emailed saying he can custom build mine to handle 500hp( i know its tq you mostly worry about) with a 2800 stall converter...1 year warranty, no core charge shipped from florida to connecticut for $1495 out the door
Anyone know anythign about this place? Seems like a hella deal

I would highly suggest a pro-built.net tranny. They take a HELL of a pounding and I NEVER had a single problem. Not sure what his costs are nowdays. Dana is a real good guy, and knows his stuff.

I just bought a trans from this guy http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW for my 91 formula. I was/am very happy with it. David is very helpful and knowledgeable. Also has 100% feedback (from 81)
There is a phone # in the auction, give him a call with your requirements and see what he can do for you.
Tell him Ken sent you.

[QUOTE=LT1Vetteguy78]where's the post[/QUO

Here http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...82&forum_id=48

Vetteguy:

Its me that ordered from mad dog, yes as they said and claim its
a bad a$$ tranny with all the goody's that will support upto 700/700
hp/torque.

I can only give feedback after 2 weeks as iam going to install this
plus a leaking timing cover and rear gears and A/C system
this will take atleast 2 weeks time.

but i spoke to john a salesman/technician at mad dog about
5 or 6 times always one word do not worry this is really a bad a$$
tranny and they will stand behind their product.

also i paid 1450 plus 180 extra for 2800 TC as against 2300 TC
that is included with 1450 but i want higher as my cam kicking
after 2500 rpm. Hope this helps but look at thier feedback on ebay
customers pretty happy about thier product and 99% pos feedback thats
enough to satisfy me.

If u still intersted call them 727-943-7742 and give my ref "mohammed".

Or u can check this one too transmissioncenter.net they r charging
1795 for the same tranny that is Level 3 (700 raptor).

compare thier level 1, 2, 3, 4
http://www.transmissioncenter.net/700MegaRaptor.htm

Gosh u did quick, good hearing that.

If u dont mind asking this Q, mad dog told me u must install tranny cooler if u r installing 2000 TC or more, its highly recommended.
Have u installed Ext cooer too, if yes than what make, size and where
did u install that ?.
