I just got done with a hotcam kit, new opti, timing chain, spark plugs, delteq unit and the car shakes really bad at idle. I havent had a tune yet so maybe bumping the rpms to 800 at idle will help but Im not sure.
I thought it may have been the wires the delteq came with so I changed them out with some MSD but it didnt help at all. As soon as the car starts moving the shake stops. It shakes strong enough to move me and I weigh around 195...
Well, mine certainly did the same when I first put the cam in. You can idle it up a bit to get some of the shake out but, when you do that, your throttle position sensor will change it's value at idle and give you a slight hesitation. I solved that problem initially with an adjustable throttle position sensor. Basically, all you need is a little tuning. I had ski re-do my chip and changed out one o2 sensor and it smoothed out pretty good. I think it will always bump at 700 RPM though. Good luck
Im still waiting for the tune to come in... but until then I just replaced the knock module in my 94 LT1 with an LT4 knock module. It seems like it got alot of the shaking out at idle, theres still some but not nearly as much.
Maybe the headers, cam and roller rockers were setting off the LT1 module retarding the timing. But would that cause it to shake?
