New Injectors causing other problems
Installed my new injectors last weekend and am extremely happy with the performance. Except for one issue. Upon starting, the car is at fast idle as would be normal, but a couple seconds later it drops down to almost stalling out. Then after hitting the accelerator it runs great the rest of the time. Anyone know what that could be all about? Thanks!!!
there on the throttle body. tps (throotle postion sensor)is on the passanger side of it with a 3 pin plug in, and the iac (idle air control sensor) is just below it with square four pin plug in.
What year?
The procedures are not the same for TPI and LT1/4 cars.
His profile says he has an 85. Why would he be concerned about LTx?
Do a IAC search in the tech tips. There's a very concise outline about performing these adjustments...I was thinking that a guy that changed his own injectors would know about the TPS and IAC.
If you didn't disturb the TPS when you changed the injectors it's probably fine. The IAC should definitely be re-adjusted and the TB cleaned. The symptom you describe sounds like a slow or sticking IAC.
Tell us a little more about your injector swap? Did you change sizes or replace with stock? The 85 came with 24# injectors; what size are you using now? Have you modified your fuel pressure?
I asked the question because he has no sig and I don't normaly look at profiles when I am trying to help. I asked a simple question to try and help as most dont mind sticking the year in the post.
