Exhaust Y Pipe?? (L98)

), but I'm obviously in the market for a new Y pipe. Has anyone tried the Walker/Dynomax pipe with the "balance tube" (Ecklers p/n 31034 - $129.99)? Does it really do anything for the resonance in the car? I'm planning on reusing the old Dynomax super turbo mufflers, as they are in good shape (previous owner must have replaced them but kept the old pipe).
Advance Auto parts also has an Arvin/Maremont Y pipe for $105.99 (p/n 439869). Is anyone using this? Neither the AAP or Maremont web site give any info other than saying it is a Y pipe for an 89. If there is no real advantage to the Dynomax I may give it a shot.
Any other possibilities I might be overlooking? Thanks - Dave

mI had the same thing happen to mine last year. A Y pipe isn't that expensive as you've noticed. I took my vette to a shop, anticipating an expensive fix, and the guy at the shop merely welded in new pipe, without having to replace the entire Y pipe. My flowmasters were fine.

Either way, I am very happy with the job it does. I have a vert and resonance can be a real killer. I just got back from the cruise-in (12 hour drive each way) and I didn't have any problems. And that's with flowmaster 40's.
And secondly after 2 years the Walker pipe has quite a bit of surface rust on it. Should have bought the Borla stainless y-pipe + suitable mufflers instead.
