burning rubber smell
I get a funny burning rubber smell coming from the engine compartment. I know it isn't the tires. It dissipates pretty fast after I stop so I haven't been able to tell where it is coming from. There isn't any squealing so I'm not sure if it is the belt or not. Anyway, I guess I could use a few suggestions on what to look for and how to tell what is wrong.

I've got the same problem and haven't been able to pinpoint it either. No bearings seem bad on the pulleys. Mine seems to only do it when I hit a bump so I'm thinking what's happening on mine is the exhaust is touching something under the car. I can't see anything that's touching or close to the exhaust manifolds either. For now I bought a fire extinguisher to keep with me in the car in case whatever it is decides to go up.
