I am in the middle of a 396 build. I need to determine which 02 sensors to run. I understand there are normal and wide band o2 sensors. What is the difference and what are people running with their 383/396 stroker build? I understand there are o2 sesors that you can data log. Who makes a good data logging O2 sensor? Just need advice and guidance. Additionally if yo have the best place to buy that would be great too.
That's a big sig pic.. I have to ask is that the standard plastic wire loom or the Factory Nylon stuff with a gray strip? the plastic ones are only good up to 190deg.
Normal O2 sensors act like a switch, the voltage quickly goes high when the the mixture gets rich, and low when things get lean. With wide-band O2 sensors the voltage change is more linear with the fuel/air mix, so you can figure out the mix from the voltage they're putting out.
If you're running the stock computer, you can't just switch out the normal O2 sensors with wide-band ones and expect them to work. I'd assume there are aftermarket computers that work with the wide-bands, but I'm not certain--I'm sure someone else will chime in and correct me
Corvette0096 this is not the plastic looms. It is the factory gray stripe. Thanks for the information about the temperature ratings. These looms do look extremely good for being 13 years old.

I replaced all mine and the only way I could find the stuff was in 100' section... 100 of 3/4 100 of .05. ETC
