Anyone have any experience with th Be cool rads. Corvette America advertises them for $569.00 for my 89.
Went to a rally in Vegas over Memorial weekend. My car has new motor, new aluminum replacement radiator (within a year), everything cleaned out, 180 stat, manual switch for fans. Car ran ok as long as we were moving at reg. speed. Traffic stop and air had to go off immed. and the windows came down. There were about 50 Vettes. Some faired ok, and some didn't.
I have seen these radiators in both Corvette America, and Ecklers for $569-599. They guarantee 20-40 degree drop in high heat conditions.
Would like some input before I buy one. The wife is not looking forward to another cruise if I can not fix the problem.
Thanks!

I've got one in mine and it rocks!
New vs old
I was at the drags two weekends ago, and with it, eletric waterpump, and a 160 stat my temps never got above 184, even after sitting, and I'm up in the desert!
I would like to have one of these myself....any LTx owners out there have one? What kind of results did you get? Where there any mods needed to make it fit?
Got mine used from another CF member cheap and it is awsome. Take a look on e-bay sometimes you can get a deal. You have to trim the rubber gromets a bit but the thing keeps my car at 177 on the HWY and 190 in trafic on 90 deg days with the AC running. You may want to give Howe a call I seem to remember a while back I checked into them and they had a simmilar radiator to the B-cool for like $360

I am am LTx owner, LT1 to be specific
EDIT:
Mods to get it to fit?
The white things you see in the photo are spacers required due to the extra thickness. Some cutting of the shroud, not to bad.
I just wish I bought one with a built-in oil cooler.
I have one as well and it has made a big difference. I road race my car, and with the stock radiator I used to continually see temperatures above 235 degrees (oil would get 295). Since I have had the Be-Cool it never goes above 210 (and this is down in Florida) on the track, and the oil would not go above 265.
I have since added a Mocal oil cooler (25 row) and my oil temps didn't get above 240 at Sebring a couple of weeks ago.

Edit: Be-Cool does not make one with an oil cooler (at least I am not aware of one), but Doug Rippie Motorsports has one will all the fittings and hose as well. Give Randy a call...
Almost certain that will put you in Group II... do not have my NCCC book with me at the moment.

Thanks. I don't know if I'll do it then. I haven't raced since '91 and I don't want to jump back in and be in a tougher class right off the bat. My rule book should be in the mail soon and I'll also confirm it with our club tech head.
