Default BLAAACK Clutch Fluid???

It's been nearly 4 months since finally being satisfied with the installation
of a working SLAVE CYLINDER. Pedal felt a little "soft" yesterday, checked
cylinder out and low and behold, it was nearly EMPTY with a BLACKish
looking deposit at the bottom. WHAT'S GOING ON?! I went through this
same crap 6 months ago. Added some fluid and after pumping the
clutch for several minutes to get that "stiff and hard" pedal back, I
looked to check the level and WOW! The %#*&*#! fluid was as BLAAACK
as very dirty motor oil. CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN why the VERY BLACK FLUID?
THANKS EVERYONE.

something is contaminating the fluid...

I have the same issue in my F-body master cylinder. I flush the fluid, and 1 week later it's black again !!

I cant explain that but it may be similar to when brake fluid gets old.You need to bleed it out until all the dirty fluid is gone.
I dont know from your post if you had done that already.
If your losing fluid you need to find the leak.
Good Luck!

Clear fluid good. Black fluid very, very bad! Flush till it's clean and then flush some more.

The rubber inside of the braided steel hose that connects the master and slave cylinder for the clutch is likely deteriorating.

I replced mine. This part number may have been discontinued and not many of them exist any more.

Good luck.

moisture and heat cause it to oxidize ( go black) and can also result in the additives dropping out of solution... deposits on the bottom
flush it out and replace it with Valvoline SynPower DOT 3 & DOT4
It has a higher boiling point and is ore resitant to moisture.
Mine is the color of fresh oil 1 year later....
