Wrong plug installed, now what?
Over the winter I bought new Bosch +4 spark plugs. I was at Pep Boys and bought what the counter guy gave me. I installed them and they seem to work fine.
I was reading my tech manual recently and it says that my 87 takes plugs with NO COMPRESSION WASHERS! The plugs I bought and installed do have compression washers. I had taken the old plugs out a long time ago and don't remember if they had compression washers or not. Over the winter I did a valve seal job, installed roller tip rockers, repainted the valve covers and installed new plug wires.
It runs fine! What effect will these plugs have? They are a real PITA to change. Should I leave well enough alone or change them?
i just took those same plugs oout only because i had no idea how long they were in. i put AC delco's back in with the comp washer? i have a 86, but i need to get a magnet to see if i have iron or al heads?
