There have been several recent posts addressing problems with the tilt function becoming loose and how to fix it. There should be a C4 Tech Tip comming soon on this problem.

I'm not sure, it seems as though the sterring wheel was used as a support during entry/exit. If I sit there i can move the wheel down to the left quite a bit. GRM magazine had the same problem with their project Corvette.
I've seen this process for repairing a Z28s floppy wheel in a recent magazine (forgot the title) and it's really involved.
Contact Tom at www.corvettesteering.com, Tom has a business thats rebuilds the steering column, your problem is most likely the pivot down inside the column.
Tom's shop is located in Anderson SC, lucky for me very close.
The problem is with one of the pins which has broken. There is a left and right side. So, if you are able to pull the steering to the left......get the picture. Also, you should take care of this ASAP. Eventually that steering will spread like cancer and soon will affect the ignition key lock cyclinder, ignition harness, etc. One day your going to experience the issue of not being able to shut your engine off, or starting it. This can be a very expensive repair.
