Ok here is the long story. I have been trying to get my 96 LT4 through the OBDII emissions here in AZ. I have gotten most of the issues solved. I have sims on the rear O2's and they look OK. I am now receiving the P1416 code. All I can find on it is the Right side Secondary air pump through a code. The issue is, I don't have one. So where do I start?
Is there a place in AZ that could help me out? Is there any one in AZ that does Dyno tuning? I am getting to the point where I am saying bad words trying to get this solved.
There are ways to make everything look "ready" i personally don't know how to do it but you ought to email a few professional tuners and ask them for help.
Should be electric air pump located below LF headlight assy. if hose is unhooked to diverter valve or pum is bad, computer will not see the )2 swing when air is introduced to system.

I thought P1416 was the bank 2 pump. I only have one on the right side. I know the pump does work and is hooked up.

O2's???
I wish the search worked further back as I believe this is the code I had a couple of years ago. If "bank 2" means passenger side then for sure it is the same as I had.
Mine was the check valve for the passenger side AIR. It is located at the top rear of the engine (very easy to reach). The vlave is laid out horizontal and apparently gets gunked up.
It was a PITA to get off without bending the tubing. It seems crude but I ended up removing mine with a impact wrench on the valve and a open end on the line. The impact helps break it loose without wrestling so much and bending the line.
The valve itself is cheap (less than 15.00). You can test it by trying to blow through it. Blowing towards the passenger side of the car it should flow very free and not flow at all in the reverse direction. On mine it was nearly impossible to blow either way.
If you are cheap or dont have a parts place handy you can probably clean it out by soakin in carb cleaner.
Yes,what he said ! I should look at what I type, same pump feeds both sides,if pump runs and you only have the one code, change that valve, make sure hose is not kinked(pull hose off pass side check valve, start car,at idle cold, pump should feed air to system for about 30 seconds, you can feel it easily)good airflow, blocked valve or passage=your code.
Thanks. I didn't even think about the valves or the hose. I will check them. If it still gets the code, I will tell the emission people THEY can just check my hose.

Thanks for the places to look. I hate to admit it but, I had a kinked hose. I think I have been code free for a few days now. Next stop, AZ emissions.
