Am I chasing ghosts?
I have for some time heard a noise that sounds like it is comming from the differential. Everything is new. Wheel bearings, halfshafts, driveshaft, motor, trans (6 spd.). I still hear a noise comming from the rear. I left it at a trans & diff shop (a good one) last night. They spent a couple hours on it today. They drove it, had it on the rack and can not find anything out of the ordinary as far as noise. They said that they do not want to take it apart until they hear a problem.
Are vette diffs noisy being we are so close to them. Am I hearing normal noises. My wife heard The noise comming home from Vegas over Memorial w/e. We want to take it to Reno over Labor day w/e.

Well, if you find the source, please let me know. I have something that sounds like a slight knocking sound out of mine and I've replaced everything back there except the diff itself. Nothing loose, car check out ok on the alignment rack by a pro chassis guy. It makes the noise sometimes and other times, it 's totally quiet. It's driving me nuts. I am about to jack it up while on my car lift and put it in gear and listen to the diff up close and personal. Good luck and let us know what you find out.
