Default Sticky Tach...WTF!!

At the drag strip yesterday, my tach seemed to be sticking/jumping at high RPM's.

Is there a fix for this? It moves smoothly from about 1-4K, than above that is starts jumping around like it is getting stuck.

Anyone know what is up with this??

Sounds like a tac filter issue or do they not have those on 96's?

Hahah I've been there before here too!

All I can tell you is it sounds like what happend to my tac when I installed a MSD igition which now controls the tac. The tac filter was now irrelevent and was screwing up the signal to the tac. I bypassed it and no more problem.

Maybe your problem is a broken tac filter but I'm thinkin 96s tac are controlled straight through the ECM.

I really shouldn't be responding to this thread so consider this a long TTT
