Beating the "brake" drum again??
I have decided to go with an enhanced brake system on my 94. I will follow advice given in a different thread about parts. I am going with the C5 calipers, DuraStop rotors, and pads, and some braided stainless lines. I would like to install matching DuraStop rear rotors. I would like to leave the rear alone, maybe paint calipers to match.
If you have done this, how did it turn out? Was there a big difference? What did you do to the rear? Did you have to install a balancing spring?
I don't autocross this car ( I have an AE86 for that) but I do drag it on occasion and I do drive pretty hard on the backroads. Deal's Gap is one of my favorite thrashing grounds just to let you know my style.

If you want to improve braking performance, put in some higher temp pads, turn the rotors, and run a bias spring.
I believe the C5 calipers have larger pistons than what you have now.. meaning you'll just be spending money to decrease your rear brake pressure.
I haven't checked the numbers yet, so please correct me if I'm wrong.
I believe most of the benefit seen by the C5 upgrade on a j55 C4 can be attributed to the new rotors, fluid flush, and high performance pads rather than the 'upgraded' parts.
My stock rotors are warped and are VERY close to the min thickness, so I just want to replace them. I love the look of the red C5 caliper with the CORVETTE lettering on them. I think they will look sick sitting behind my black A molds on a lowered black '94. The whole front package is about $650 to $700.

, just to be clear though, this is a visual modification, not a performance mod.And the jury is still out on SS lines too. They have several disadvantages.
