Default FIRST Fuel Injection, Followup

Here is a follow up on a string from yesterday (Has anyone ever seen or running these TPI intakes?). I emailed a question to FIRST asking them for some dyno comparisons and changes in peak HP rpm's from other TPI systems, and got this response. It is a link to a 3rd Gen site where there is a thorough discussion of this system. I thought I should start a new string because yesterday's is already burried in the second page. I have never heard of this sytem but it sure sounds as if they have shattered the 4500-4800 rpm "wall" in TPI systems. I am just thowing this out for everyone's information and maybe some Vette's have tried this? Please chime in with what you know! (Hopefully my cut and past works. The 3rd Gen string is quite long. Lots of good info) Plus their painted units look awsome!

HI GEORGE,

I GUESS WE ARE IN LUCK! THE FIRST SYSTEM HAS EASILY ACHIEVED OVER 5500 RPMS OVER AND OVER AGAIN MANY TIMES. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MANY HAPPY FIRST OWNERS THAT THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS WITH HIGH RPM PERFORMANCE. I PERSONALLY HAVE EXCEEDED 5500 RPMS WITH MY OWN FIRST POWER VEHICLES. I HAVE ALSO SEEN 6200 RPMS WITH NO PROBLEMS. I HAVE ATTACHED THIS THREAD FROM THIRDGEN THAT HAS A GENTLEMAN DESCRIBING HIS FIRST PROJECT AND COMPARISON AGAINST THE HOLLEY STEALTH RAM MAYBE THAT CAN GIVE YOU SOME INSIGHT. I HOPE I HAVE ANSWERED YOUR QUESTIONS, BUT IF NOT PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK MORE, THAT IS WHAT WE ARE HERE FOR! Click here: http://thirdgen.org/techbb2/showthre...hreadid=225030.

THANKS KEN

I know reading is fundamental, but I skipped the link. Just keep in mind that RPM reached with a manifold is not indicitive of its power potential. I've spun my stock L98 to 6200 in a fit of rage but it still stopped making power at 4500.

True enough. My purpose in this string is to flush out that information. The airflow capacity of this sytem looks like it raises the peak HP rpm instead of simply strangling the engine! This forum has some very knowledgable members. I am hoping to get some "real time" information.

I wouldn't count on getting some real time info. Reason being is in my time here this is the first I've seen this manifold mentioned. To draw out some opinions, get the flow numbers and runner length to form some base of comparison to the other manifolds we all use. You'll not only want to know flow at the intake, but flow through the runner as well. The more info you have the better. Who knows, a hogged out TPI may flow the same or better than the manifold your looking at?
