Default Harland Sharp Rockers?

My engine builder is wrapping up the top end of my LT1 396 engine. When he blueprinted the engine the stated I could use 1.6 Crane Gold or Harland Sharp. He prefers using the Harland because he can get them offset which allows them to align straight with the valves. He claims reduce heat and better geometry within the valve train. What are your oppinions on the two rockers and what about the builders claims of better valve train geometry? I have been kicking this decision around for a while and cannot make up my mind. Do I go with a Harland Sharp or a proven Crane?

Harland Sharp makes a very nice rocker. I have used them many times with no problems at all.

According to Crane, the Gold rockers have a "quick lift" feature allowing the valves to open quicker. If you are worried about valve geometry, custom grind a camshaft to give you the same lift and duration with 1.5's.

I've never used either, but know many who have. I've never heard of anyone who had a problem with Harland Sharps.

I always used Comp Pro Mangnums in my engines.

If you're using the bigger AFR heads, you;ll need to offset. Dont believe their website about using std valve train parts. If you're still using the GM heads, i dont see why he'd need offsets. Either is a good alum rocker, but i'd go with promags if you dont need the offset.
