Yesterday, when I had the top down, as I got out of the car and used the power door unlock, the convertible hatch unclicked (as if I hit the yellow button)... and kept latching and unlatching non stop.
I have a 92 convertible and never heard of anything like this but it's clear that the yellow button is interlocked with the parking brake when the engine is running. That implies that all of these go back to a computer, and the interaction may be in software / firmware rather than just some wires rubbing through insulation. I'm presuming that your battery is well-charged so there was no extreme voltage dip that caused the system to act wacky.
does this repeat consistently or was it a one-time thing?
